What our garden maintenance service includes
Our garden maintenance covers everything your outdoor space needs to stay tidy, healthy and looking its best throughout the year. We tailor every visit to what the garden actually needs — not a fixed checklist that ignores what’s right in front of us.
- Lawn mowing & edging — regular cuts at the right height for the season, with clean edges that define the shape of the garden. We adjust cutting frequency and height as conditions change through the year.
- Hedge cutting & shaping — trimming hedges to maintain their shape, size and health. We advise on the right timing for each species and take all cuttings away.
- Weeding & border care — removing weeds from beds, borders and paving before they take hold, and keeping plant borders tidy and defined.
- Pruning & deadheading — cutting back overgrown shrubs, deadheading spent flowers, and removing dead wood to encourage healthy growth.
- Leaf clearance — removing fallen leaves from lawns, borders and hard surfaces during autumn and winter before they cause damage or become a hazard.

What happens on your first visit
We know that handing your garden over to someone new involves a degree of trust. Here’s exactly what to expect when we arrive for the first time:
We start with a quick walk around your garden with you — or on our own if you can’t be there. We want to understand what you’re unhappy with, what you’d like to improve, and what you’d like us to leave alone.
Before we start any work, we agree exactly what we’re going to do on this visit. For ongoing plans this becomes the baseline for every visit; for one-offs it sets the fixed price.
We work through the garden methodically — lawn first, then edges, borders, hedges and any specific tasks you’ve flagged. We don’t rush between jobs.
All cuttings, clippings and green waste are collected and removed. We leave your garden tidy — not just done.
Before we leave, we let you know what we’ve done, flag anything we noticed (e.g. a hedge that needs attention next time), and confirm the next visit if you’re on a regular plan.
For one-off tidy-ups, we aim to complete everything in a single visit. For very overgrown gardens, we’ll let you know upfront if a second visit makes more sense — we’d rather be honest about what’s achievable than rush a job.
Weekly, fortnightly or monthly - choosing your visit frequency
If you're signing up for a regular maintenance plan, one of the first decisions is how often you'd like us to visit. The right answer depends on your garden, the time of year, and how tidy you like things to look between visits.
Common questions about our garden maintenance service
Here are some common questions we receive.
Do I need to be at home when you visit?
No. Some of our regular customers aren’t home when we visit. As long as we have access to the garden, we’ll carry out the agreed work and leave everything tidy. We’ll send a message to let you know we’ve been if you’d like that.
What's the minimum commitment for a regular maintenance plan?
There’s no minimum contract length. We work on a flexible basis — you can pause, adjust frequency or stop visits at any time. We do ask for reasonable notice (usually one visit’s worth) so we can plan our schedules, but there’s nothing to sign and no cancellation fees.
Do you provide a quote before starting?
Yes, always. We’ll visit your garden, understand what you need, and give you a clear price before any work starts. For ongoing plans this is an agreed regular rate; for one-off jobs it’s a fixed price for the visit. No surprises.
What happens if my garden visit falls on a day with bad weather?
We work in most weather conditions, light rain doesn’t stop us! If conditions are genuinely too poor to work safely or do a good job (heavy rain, strong winds, frozen ground), we’ll rearrange as soon as possible and keep you informed.
Can you take on a garden that's very overgrown?
Yes. In fact, a lot of our customers come to us specifically because their garden has got seriously out of hand. For very overgrown gardens, we’ll often recommend a dedicated clearance visit first to reset the space, followed by regular maintenance to keep it under control. We’ll talk through the best approach when we come to quote.
